Basic ECG Interpretation – February 2023

ECG Interpretation is something that a lot of veterinary professionals struggle with. Luckily for us, one of our experienced assistants Christy has a lot of knowledge on this topic and created this course for our staff. Her dog CInder assisted during class (though he was found sleeping on the job a few times)

Midmark Anesthesia Class 2022

Sue McKenzie, RVT, VTS (Anesthesia/Analgesia) hosted an in house training session for our technicians here at AEC. The session focused on basic and advanced anesthesia concepts and involved a fun game of “sabotage” where the technicians got to practice troubleshooting various anesthesia machine scenarios.

Vet Tech Symposium 2022/Practice Manager Symposium 2022, Las Vegas, NV

In 2022, Alma, Bertha, Brian, Erik and Izabett attended the Veterinary Technician Symposium where they learned about pain management, patient safety and Fear Free patient handling techniques.

Sinuhe also attended the nearby Practice Manager Symposium where he was able to collaborate, learn and share with other veterinary practice managers.

Medical Math Class – July 2021

Veterinary professionals utilize math on a regular basis as part of their job, from basic calculations to constant rate infusions. Our clinical manager, Laura hosted a class on medical math. We did a whole lot of math in a few hours, but we also had fun learning together!

Western Veterinary Conference, Las Vegas 2020

Mackenzie, Laura and Stephanie W. went to this large annual conference and attended lectures on various emergency and critical care topics, including parvo virus, shock, Recover CPR and too many to list! Stephanie even got to high five a cat!

Central Line in house seminar with David Liss MS, RVT, VTS (ECC, SAIM), CVPM, PHR, CCFP

For this amazing in house C.E. event, David Liss went over central line and PICC line placement through both lecture and a hands on laboratory with our staff.

This hands on three day conference covered: Emergency & Critical Care, Recover CPR certification and Anesthesia & Ventilator use.

Charlotte, Laura & Sinuhe attended lectures each morning and practiced hands on skills in the afternoons. Training included: central line placement, intraosseous catheter placement, ultrasound guided venipuncture, learning the ins/outs of ventilator use and certification in basic and advanced CPR.
